TREPO Board Meeting Minutes (Tentative)
May 2, 2017
Board Members Present: Joan Nano, Marcus Morgan, John Bryant, Laura Dailey, Tom Tramel, Glenn Hunter, Jule McGee, Phylis Rea
Board Members Absent: Sammy Keen (excused), Charlee Thompson (excused), Mike Wilson (excused)
Officers Present: Millie McGee, Evelyn Johnson, Linda Hizer
Officers Absent: Don Warming (excused)
Alternates Present: Charlie Arnett, Karen Mullins
Alternates Absent: Sassy Johnson (excused)
Guests: Vicki Imm, Larry Clifford, Tina Smith, Terry Downs, Zack Poteet
The meeting was *called to order* by Joan Nano at 7:05 p.m. and was opened with prayer and the pledge of allegiance by Karen Mullins.
Linda Hizer conducted *roll call*.
The *secretary’s report* was forgone due to no report being submitted.
The *treasurer’s report* was submitted by Evelyn Johnson. John Bryant made a motion to accept the report. The motion was seconded by Jule McGee and passed by the board.
The *membership report* was presented by Charlie Arnett; a total of 703 members. (no breakdown of CC/SC)
*Park Management Report CC: *
Jule McGee reported: (1) The roof on A-frame is completed, thanks to Glen Hunter. (2) The septic tank area is ready to be covered. (3) A new fence at Point Park will be going up soon to provide greeter station and more parking spaces. (4) Don Warming donated a gate for Point Park before leaving the TREPO area…sorry to see him leave.
Tom Tramel expressed concern for Boat Ramp Park regarding safety/liability issues. (Boat Ramp Park’s purpose is for the launching of boats and not swimming/fishing.) John Bryant made a motion to provide $150 to pay for signs to display in the park. Phylis Rhea seconded the motion. Jule McGee asked for people to help with the wording for the signs.
Glen Hunter suggested the need to work on restoring/protecting the banks in Boat Ramp Park through the use of landscaping in the near future.
*Park Management Report SC:*
John Bryant reported an active month in the parks on the Suwannee County side.
*Newsletter Report: *
The TREPO Board voted to have the TREPO Newsletter mailed out May 15. Articles for the TREPO Newsletter are due to Karen Faunce by May 8th. The newsletter should be received by residents by May 29th. Joan Nano will report on the present state of affairs for the newsletter and a special “thank you” for Don Warming and his contributions to TREPO. Joan Nano and Jule McGee will report on park rules and county restrictions. Laura Dailey will report on environmental issues of concern for this area. Evelyn will report on TREPO’s financial status.
*Old Business: *(1) Joan Nano will consult with Koon Legal regarding the clarification wording of TREPO membership. (2) Marcus Morgan reiterated the revised version of the “use of club house” policy to omit the “not for profit” clause/approved by board. (3) The $100 donation for Mary Bryant was verified and approved by the board. (4) The deed restrictions updated 10/7/90 were recently filed in Suwannee County. (Filing had been overlooked in SC when filed in CC.) (5) Joan Nano, Marcus Morgan, and Mike Wilson presented Mark Hunter with a plaque honoring the Sheriff’s department for outstanding service to our community.
*New Business*: (1) Joan Nano presented a list of “time slots” for gate greeter sign up. (2) Tom Tramel made a motion to allow sheriff deputies to enter TREPO parks with an issued key. The motion was seconded by John Bryant and approved by the board. Linda Hizer and Joan Nano will write a letter to the Columbia County and Suwanee County Sheriff’s Dept. giving them permission to enter TREPO parks when necessary. (Keys have been given to Columbia County. John Bryant will present Suwannee County with keys.) (3) Phyllis Rea made a motion for Vickie Imm to become President of TREPO until the next election. Jule McGee seconded the motion and it was approved by the Board.
Guest were acknowledged and given the opportunity for contributions to the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
