Field Report

Arrived at location and spoke to the complainant about the dogs as I did not see them when I arrived. He stated they

are at the end of the fenced in area where the fawn’s body is. I walked down and saw the two (2) black ones (looked to

be Sheppard type mixes) and the one closest showed its teeth then barked at me aggressively. I walked further down

to the corner and the last dog was there that was a male GSD/Malinois mixed. The complainant stated that he

believes the fawn was stuck in the fence and the dogs got to it but was not 100% sure if it was already deceased or if

the dogs did it. He stated that where the water meets the fence, there is an opening that dogs could get through. I let

him know that I was waiting for one other person to show up due to the demeanor of the dogs and safety and he

understood. While we waited, he stated that he thinks he knows where the dogs live as he drives around the area and

lives near the possible House and also described where they worked at. I pulled it up on my phone and showed him

and he showed me the general location. I called Ofc Wormuth who was in route to let him know that there might be a

possible owner of the dogs and that I was headed that way. Drove over there and saw what I thought was the possible

home and the gate was open enough that a dog could slip out. I saw a neighbor pulling from one of the homes and

spoke to them and asked them questions about the dogs and if they could verify the home for me and also sated

where they work. I honked the horn several times as I looked like the front door was open but no one came out. I

looked up the location of where they worked and left a message and called back agian with no answer. Someone

called back and I spoke to them and described the dogs to them then let them know the gate was open and they

stated they weren’t sure. I asked if they could come to the park to verify if they are there dogs or not due to the

demeanor they were presenting and they stated that they were on the way. I called Ofc Wormuth to let him know that I

have a possible owner on the way so that they could retrieve their dogs. I arrived back and the possible owners

showed up and the dogs demeanors changed instantly as soon as they pulled up. I asked them to get their dogs and

then I would need to speak to them about what happened, the claims and what will happen going forward. They went

and got their dogs and loaded them up. I asked them to give me all the information on the dogs and then explained to

them that I would be issuing a citation for the dogs off property. I asked who would be getting it and they told me who

and then I asked if I could mail it or come back down on Monday to get it signed. They stated to mail it and that would

be fine.

Animal owners were nice enough to move the fawn to the road and we called the landfill to pick up.

Citation 0201 issued for three (3) dogs off property nuisance in the amount of $165.00

Dogs are as follows:

“Duke” M(N) 3 yr Bel Mal/GSD

“Baby” F 2 yr Bel Mali/Mix

“Linda” F 2 yr Bel Mal/Mix
